비회원 교회와의 관계: (1) Vatican II 이후 첫 총회인 Upssala 1968에서 로마 카톨릭을
회원교회로 받는 문제가 거론됨 (1969년 교황 바오로 6세가 신학적 목회적 문제가 있으므로 더욱 연구하여야 한다고 말함). 1972년 WCC/RCC 대화에서 신학적 문제가 없음을 확인. 그러나 당분간 WCC에 직접 가입하지는 않기로 함. 실질적으로 로마카톨릭의 수가 WCC 전회원보다 2배 이상 많음.
로마카톨릭은 WCC의 거의 모든 프로그램(program]) 에 참여하고 있음.
(2) WCC는 비회원교회에 문호를 개방하고 있으며, 또 많은 교회가 큰 관심을 가지고 여러
대회나 협의회에 참가하고 있지만, 세계교회의 추세는 교회의 일치와 상관이 없는 교회가 점점 증가하는 추세: 21世紀에 가면 회원교회는 비로마카톨릭교회와 비동방정교회의 반 이하가 될 것으로 추산됨.
WCC의 구조: (1) Faith and Witness (Programme Unit I): Unit I`s mandate is to seek
God`s will for the unity of the church, to enable churches to fulfill their missionaaaary calling, to encourage interfaith dialogue and to enquire into what Christian belief implies for contemporary society, with its rapid changes brought about by science and technology.
(2) Jusrice and Service (Programme Unit II): Unit II`s mandate is to help the
churches to combat poverty, injustice and oppression.
